Breeders' Cup on Agenda for Ribchester
Trainer Richard Fahey has revealed that star Godolphin miler Ribchester could bypass this weekend’s Gr1 Jacques le Marois in France to be aimed at the Breeders’ Cup later in the year, reports Racing Post. The three-time Gr1 winner is now likely to be rerouted to the Gr1 Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on 21 October 21 which could precede a tilt at the Breeders' Cup Mile at Del Mar in California on 4 November. “He's fine, there's not a bother on him but we're going to give him a little break and get him ready for the QEII. All being well we might take him to America. The Breeders' Cup Mile could be something to look forward to,” said Fahey. "We'll see how we get on at Ascot. We're very happy with him but we thought if he got beaten at Deauville it wouldn't be ideal, and 11 days isn't ideal [since finishing second in the Sussex Stakes], especially on that ground."
