Unbeaten Siege Of Quebec Ready for Rosebud
Meanwhile, co-trainer Adrian Bott expects blue blooded colt Siege Of Quebec to acquit himself well when he makes his stakes debut in tomorrow's Listed Rosebud (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens. The $1.2 million Easter yearling, who is raced by a syndicate comprising trainer Gai Waterhouse, Tom Magnier, Nordic Racing & Breeding, and Julian Blaxland, is unbeaten in his two starts to date and will use the Rosebud as a stepping stone to the Gr1 Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill on 10 September. "He has a little bit of time between races now to freshen up and get that speed back into his legs for the 1100m. The horse does have a very good turn of foot and we'll see it again on Saturday," Bott told racingnsw.com.au. "He is well weighted against those horses that have already proven themselves at the top level. He is a horse on the up and has the advantage of race fitness so it looks an ideal starting point for his Golden Rose campaign." Bott added: "We always knew we had a nice horse on our hands and wanted to look after him. We put him away in favour of producing him as a late two-year-old and roll into the spring as an early three-year-old." By Fastnet Rock out of Rose Of Cimmaron (Bite The Bullet), Siege Of Quebec is a full-brother to the smart Gr3 MRC Manfred Stakes winner Bull Point. Rose Of Cimmaron, herself, is a full-sister to Gr3 winner and prolific producer Mica's Pride, dam of multiple Gr1 winning stallion Criterion.
