Impressive Debut Winner Gr1 Bound

Monday, 14th August 2017

Trainer David Vandyke has earmarked the Gr1 Caulfield Guineas as a potential target for Let's Party Marty (Duporth-Mollycat, by Catbird) following the colt's impressive debut win at Doomben on Saturday, reports Racing Queensland Webnews. The son of Jindera Park's Gr1-winning stallion Duporth led all the way to score by 1.5 lengths over Snitz & I Am Impinge in the QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap over 1200m. "He's a beautiful colt who has shown us a lot," Vandyke said. "I threw him in the deep end to see how he'd go as I've always thought he'd make a Group horse." Vandyke added: "He's now shown that potential and he's nominated for the Caulfield Guineas. If he pulls up well he might go down for it." The $1 million Gr1 Caulfield Guineas (1600m) will be run at Caulfield racecourse on 14 October.
