World Approval Wins Gr1 Fourstardave Handicap

Monday, 14th August 2017

At Saratoga racecourse in the US, 5YO gelding World Approval (Northern Afleet-Win Approval, by With Approval) posted the second top-flight success of his career when scoring by 2.25 lengths in the US$500,000 Gr1 Fourstardave Handicap (8 furlongs) for 3YO+, defeating Time Test (Dubawi) & Ballagh Rocks (Stormy Atlantic). World Approval improved his record to 9 wins (including the Gr1 United Nations Stakes) and 6 placings (including the Gr1 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes) from 22 starts for earnings of US$1,443,763. Trainer Mark Casse said he was unsure where World Approval would head next. "Maybe the Woodbine Mile [Gr1] is a possibility, but I haven't really thought about it," Casse told Blood Horse. "Long-term, our goal was the Breeders' Cup, but we're just happy to have this. We won the Woodbine Mile last year; I wouldn't mind winning it two years in a row."
