Arrogate Has Final Gallop for Pacific Classic

Wednesday, 16th August 2017

Arrogate had his final serious gallop ahead of Saturday’s US$1 million Gr1 TVG Pacific Classic when working over five furlongs in 1:00 min flat at Del Mar yesterday. Juddmonte’s champion grey then continued on to six furlongs in a time of 1:14 1/5 which pleased trainer Bob Baffert. "He just cruised around there," Baffert told Blood Horse. “We're set (for Saturday)." Arrogate, the world’s best racehorse and North America’s highest ever stakes earner, lost some of his lustre when suffering a shock defeat in last month’s Gr2 San Diego Handicap (8.5 furlongs) at Del Mar. The son of Unbridled’s Song finished fourth and some 15 lengths behind the winner Accelerate, against whom he will line up again on the weekend.
