Jump-Out for Exciting Savile Row
Talented Kiwi galloper Savile Row (Makfi-Fleece, by Daylami) continues to make impressive progress ahead of a Melbourne spring campaign aimed at several of Australia's most prestigious races, reports theinformant.co.nz. The Kevin Hickman-owned 4YO showed last season what he is capable of when finishing runner-up at Gr1 level on three occasions, namely in the NZ 2,000 Guineas, Levin Classic, and Herbie Dyke Stakes. "His work has been good and he'll have a jump-out over 1000 metres at Flemington on Friday," trainer Mike Moroney said. "His first race at this stage will be over 1200 metres at Moonee Valley on 9 September, then step up to Group One in the Sir Rupert Clarke at Caulfield three weeks later." Moroney added: "The only other confirmed race is the Toorak [Gr1 over 1600m at Caulfield on 14 October] and where he goes after that will depend on how he's racing. He is entered for the Cox Plate and I guess if everything was going to plan with him it would be considered."
