Snitzel Crashes Through The Million Mark

Wednesday, 23rd August 2017

At Pakenham in Victoria yesterday, 4YO gelding Kafoo (Snitzel-Appear) tipped his newly crowned Champion Australian Sire Snitzel over the edge. The $12,100 first place cheque for the David Hayes, Ben Hayes & Tom Dabernig-prepared runner clicked Arrowfield Stud's Snitzel over the $1 million mark for progeny earnings with just a smidge over three weeks of the season gone. By any stretch it has been an ominous start to the new racing year for his rivals, as Snitzel is already almost double any other living sire in the early title race. By Arrowfield's former Champion Sire Redoute's Choice, alongside whom he stands, Snitzel's 2017 fee is $176,000.
