While the concept of value is subjective, a really nicely bred 3YO filly looks like being exactly that after finishing runner-up in Sandown's opening affair over 1000m yesterday. A $100,000 yearling at the 2016 Magic Millions National Sale, Sworn Evidence worked into the race strongly on debut behind fellow debutant and winner Written Choice (Written Tycoon). She is out of the unraced Mr Innocent mare Deposition, a half-sister to Australian Champion 2YO Victory Vein who won twice at Gr1 level, and whose Gr1 placings included the Gr1 Golden Slipper. They descend from the old Woodlands Stud family that produced Sookie, Aspirations, Grampians and Hissy Fit. Sworn Evidence had work to do in the straight before Damian Lane was able to fully extricate her to set chase after the leader, and another 100 metres would have made things interesting. Definitely one to watch...
