Expensive Filly Set For Hawkesbury Debut
Meanwhile, Hawkesbury-based trainer Brad Widdup is set to debut expensive filly Workdrinks in today's Philon 3YO Maiden Handicap at his home track. The well bred filly is by Fastnet Rock from Anabaa mare Slapstick, a three-quarter sister to dual Gr1 winning sprinter Virage De Fortune and multiple Group winning, Gr1 Oakleigh Plate runner-up Avenue. Slapstick herself was also a Gr3 winner. This is a truly outstanding family that also features Champion 3YO and 4YO and Australian Horse of the Year Emancipation as fourth dam, as well as Gr1 winners Railings, Stratum Star (a 2017 Widden Stud 2017 Freshman Sire), as well as South African Gr1 winner Rumya. The page also includes talented Street Cry colt Rageese (standing his debut season at NZ's Windsor Park Stud in 2017) who won at Gr3 level and took second in the Gr1 ATC Sires' Stakes. Workdrinks was pinhooked by Amarina Farm from the draft of Wood Nook Farm at the 2015 Magic Millions National Weanling Sale before being sold to Jadeskye at the 2016 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale for $460,000. She was tuned up for her debut with a cosy 1.2-length trial win late July at Hawkesbury.
