  • Kitchwin Hills 2023 Inglis Easter Sale Overview

    Thursday, 30th March 2023

The magnificent property of Kitchwin Hills with its calcium rich soils, river flats, and undulating paddocks is a haven for growing out Thoroughbreds, and this is amply demonstrated by their racetrack success. From their last two Inglis Easter Yearling Sale drafts, they’ve already produced Listed Perth Stakes winner Left The Building, who is now a 3YO racing in Hong Kong, and this season’s 2YO filly Inhibitions who is a winner and finished a narrow runner-up in the Gr3 TL Baillieu Handicap at Rosehill only a week ago. Renowned for its limestone-rich paddocks (see below), Kitchwin Hills sold Champion 3YO Colt and The Everest winner Yes Yes Yes, and amongst their consigned yearlings is his half-brother, Lot 362, by Snitzel. Their winning dam also left stakes placed Dee Nine Elle, and she is a half-sister to three stakes winning sprinters. On the same theme, Kitchwin Hills will offer a Yes Yes Yes half-brother to Inhibitions, Lot 455, out of Listed placed winner Workdrinks who has made a great start as a broodmare as she is also dam of this season’s city-winning I Am Invincible 3YO Lubrication – her first foal  (see item below). Snitzel colt, Lot 109, is out of Gr3 winner Duchess Kate who has left two winners to date, and is a half-sister to Gr2 winner Saavoya from a strong New Zealand family. An I Am Invincible colt, Lot 348, is a full brother to current stakes-placed winner California Surreal (also a Kitchwin Hills Easter graduate), out of Gr3 winner Serene Majesty, who is a daughter of Listed winner Custard. A daughter of Group 1 winner Ellicorsam, speedy mare Ellicazoom’s Exceed and Excel filly is Lot 114 and, given her sire’s exploits this season with his 2YOs she should prove very popular. In 2023, Kitchwin Hills’s draft of nine yearlings has a strong list of sires: Deep Field, Exceed and Excel, I Am Invincible, Snitzel, So You Think, Toronado, Written Tycoon, and Yes Yes Yes. Given their production record, this is clearly a draft to inspect.
