Light raced 3YO filly Rupertaar (Winning Rupert-Great Dansaar, by Choisir) looks set for a solid campaign off the back of an eye-catching 3-length barrier trial victory on Monday at Hawkesbury, her second trial win this time in. An impressive 3.25-length winner on her racetrack debt in June, the filly then failed as a short-priced favourite second time out. The heavy 9 conditions were possibly to blame for that performance, especially when one considers that outside of that run, she has shown in all her barrier trial efforts that she is a filly of quality. Trained by Bjorn Baker, the Darby Racing-syndicated filly could be on a path towards the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas (1400m) in January, a race her half-sister Isotope (Deep Field) started favourite in last year before unfortunately falling in the home straight when looking the winner. A three-time Listed winner, Isotope is the first runner for her Choisir-sired dam Great Dansaar, herself a half-sister to dual Group 1 winner Yankee Rose (All American). Breeders Daandine Stud would be following the progress of Rupetaar with excitement, with the Queensland-based stud farm set to offer Lot 90 at January’s Magic Millions Yearling Sale, a Spirit Of Boom half-sister, one of 41 lots catalogued by Eureka Stud’s Group 1 producing sire whose latest boom 2YO Honey Pot was beaten a half-length after missing the start by 4-lengths over 1000m at the Sunshine Coast.
