Trainer Annabel Neasham has nominated My Oberon (Dubawi-My Titania, by Sea the Stars) for the HK$20 million Gr1 FWD Champions Mile at the end of this month, reported racingnews.hkjc.com. The Irish bred import ran second last start in the Gr1 Doncaster Handicap and will clash with Hong Kong's best in dual Champions Mile winner Golden Sixty (Medaglia d'Oro-Gaudeamus, by Distorted Humor) and California Spangle (Starspangledbanner-Pearlitas Passion, by High Chaparral), while Hong Kong Derby winner Voyage Bubble (Deep Field-Raheights, by Rahy) is also likely to run. "It is very exciting to see such a strong contingent of world-class horses heading to Hong Kong for FWD Champions Day," Mr Andrew Harding, Executive Director, Racing at The Hong Kong Jockey Club, said. "The showcase is firmly established as one of world racing's principal events and this year we will welcome an extraordinary line-up from Great Britain, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. Hong Kong's hometown hero Golden Sixty is looking to create history, while Dubai Honour and the might of Japan will test some incredible form lines in Hong Kong against a collection of the home team's best gallopers." Golden Sixty has made this race his, having won it in 2021 and 2022 for trainer Francis Lui. Neasham ran third in the Gr1 Hong Kong Mile in December 2022 with Laws of Indices (Power-Sampers, by Exceed and Excel), who was beaten by California Spangle and Golden Sixty.
