Entries are now open for NZB's 2024 Ready to Run Sale of Two-Year-Olds, following the record-breaking success of the 2023 edition where rising star Megastar Heart fetched an unprecedented $825,000. Scheduled for November 20 and 21 at the Karaka Sales Centre, this sale has established itself as a global leader in its category. The 2023 sale saw remarkable outcomes, with the total aggregate soaring by 39% to over $35.1 million. Notably, 12 lots were sold for $500,000 or more, underlining the sale's elite status. Graduates from this sale have amassed 29 Group One wins and 116 stakes victories in the last five seasons alone, including prominent names like Golden Sixty, Lucky Sweynesse, and Megastar Heart. Reflecting on the success, NZB Managing Director Andrew Seabrook pointed to the ongoing demand for New Zealand-bred 2YOs, prepared meticulously by the country's skilled horsemen and women. The 2023 sale finished with a record average of $156,031, highlighting its financial regional dominance and quality. Preparations for this year's event include Breeze Ups on October 21 and 22 at Te Rapa, where all catalogued horses will showcase their abilities on turf over two consecutive days. Seabrook noted the advantages of this setup, providing buyers with comprehensive data and video analysis prior to the auction. He expressed anticipation for continued success, stating, "The 2023 Ready to Run Sale was just incredible, but we aren't stopping there." With strong international interest, including from markets in Hong Kong, Australia, and beyond, NZB aims to deliver another exceptional sale experience at Karaka in November, with preparations already well underway.
