  • Beaufine Form Key to Bolton Sprint Prospects

    Friday, 26th July 2024

With seven of Saturday's Listed H G Bolton Sprint acceptances coming through a last start effort in the Listed Beaufine Stakes including five of the top six home in the 1000m sprint, the form is sure to once again prove the one to follow. Taken out by the race fit Puli (Dick Turpin-Blazing Red Jules, by Passenger), the 7YO gelding may not find everything falls into place this time around with many of the other runners coming into the race second up and are likely to have benefitted from the first up run in the Beaufine. One who is sure to have taken plenty of improvement is the Luke Fernie trained 4YO Man Crush (Manhattan Rain-Crushed, by All Too Hard) who started favourite last start. With a win and three second placed efforts from five second up runs, jockey Chris Parnham will hopefully be able to overcome barrier ten aboard Man Crush to make his presence felt. Fourth behind Puli, Adam Durrant's 5YO entire Minsk Moment (I Am Invincible-Dancing Express, by Oratorio) has the class to win the race, and with a stakes victories already on his resume, another could see him as a possible stallion proposition for the lucrative Western Australian market upon his retirement from racing.
