Training the winner of the last two editions of the Listed Bribie Handicap, trainer Tony Gollan has accepted with a formidable team of seven of the final 17 acceptances, including last year's winner All That Pizzazz (Spirit of Boom-Pizzazz, by Encosta de Lago) in an attempt to record three consecutive victories in the feature sprint. With any of Gollan's runners more than capable of taking out the race, some are slightly out of form, but one would be silly to dismiss any of their chances. Currently the favourite in a wide-open betting market, 6yo gelding Zarastro (I Am Invincible-Adrift, by Zabeel) comes into the race first up from a spell. Although he has only won once from six first up runs in the past, he does have five wins from seven starts at the track, and off the back of his impressive recent trial, he should be in the race for some time. Second behind eventual Gr1 winner Mornington Glory (Shalaa) two starts back, Gollan's Golden Boom (Spirit of Boom-Golden Falls, by Encosta de Lago) was a narrow third, beaten less than a length first up this time in, and with a solid second up record of two wins and a second from four attempts, the 5yo may get a cosy run in transit and prove hard to run down, as long as jockey Kyle Wilson-Taylor can overcome barrier 16. Likely to get a lovely run from barrier 1, last start winner Shalaa's Moment (Shalaa-Not a Singlemoment, by Not a Single Doubt) is right down on just 53kgs and with a win second up from three prior attempts, it would not surprise come race day that the Matthew Hoysted trained 5yo mare will start close to favourite.
