Some 1130 acres at Jerry's Plains were granted to John Bowman in 1824 and his son George Bowman took on the property a decade later, naming it Arrowfield. The family liked the archery theme, having another property Archerfield, near Singleton, consisting of 2560 acres. Arrowfield was purchased by Messara in 1985, and the business began as it has carried on beginning with the stallion Kenmare and then, in 1990, the incredible Danehill came to Arrowfield. In 1996, both Danehill and the Jerry's Plains property were acquired by Coolmore, and Arrowfield moved to a new farm, previously known as Wahroonga Stud. They have since expanded to include neighbouring property Bellerive Farm. At the new farm, Arrowfield thrived. They stood Champion Stallions Redoute's Choice and Snitzel as well as outstanding stallions like Not A Single Doubt, Flying Spur, with their current roster headlined by several proven Gr1 sires such as Dundeel, The Autumn Sun, Castelvecchio, and Maurice. In 2025, twenty-four commercially active stallions based in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa carry the Arrowfield brand. Arrowfield's current location is responsible for seven Golden Slipper winners: Belle Du Jour, Catbird, Danzero, Estijaab, Flying Spur, Forensics and Miss Finland; Australian Horses of the Year Lankan Rupee and Weekend Hussler; and multiple Champions such as Miss Finland, Shoals, The Autumn Sun, and Estijaab. Arrowfield have sold 85 seven figure yearlings, and they can run too, with one third being stakes winners and eight winning at the top level, including Estijaab, Master Of Design, Mustaaqeem, Profondo, Stronger, Sunday Joy, Switzerland and Wandjina.
